I’m Back and the Democrats are doing what they do Best

by Lawrence on Jun.23, 2010, under Politics

I’ve been on the Sidelines, but now I’m back.

It has been over a month since I have posted here. My life got a little busy recently… or actually, a lot busy, and I had to focus on other things rather than The Wayfarer Philosophy. Yet, I’ve been keeping up with the goings on in the world and in this country. It is truly sad what is happening to this country at the hands of its government. This is a nation that has a history of so much honor and self-sacrifice, and although we have a history that is also clouded by severe wrongs, this country has always been on a course to correct itself and better itself. We now, however, are are at a point where the country’s prosperity hangs in the balance. We often take our freedom and our blessings for granted, and I am sad to say that there are a lot of people in this country who are content to sit back and not pay attention to what is going on nor think hard about the constant lies and manipulation put out by our present regime in government and the media that serves them.

How About this Oil Spill?

In getting caught up, I might as well start on what has been the biggest topic for the last month and a half. Let’s start with the obvious. Yes it is a terrible state of affairs for the Gulf Coast’s ecosystems and the livelihoods of the people who live there. BP should be playing the role it is playing in trying to clean up and stop the mess. Likewise, they should have to be held responsible for the damages to the people and the environmental concerns that result from this accident. Yet, the whole Obama administration mantra of “kick their asses and keep the boot on their neck” doesn’t accomplish a damn thing. Ken Salazar had the “boot ont he neck” quote and Barack Obama reported the whole “ass kicking” quote that most everyone has heard by now. The time for dealing out punishment comes later if there were any laws broken and the repayment for damages for what the accident has caused can begin now as these damages arise. Yet, a government who does not try to do anything to contribute to their own responsibility for organizing and helping the coastal states to protect their environments should not be engaging in the tough talk about punishing businesses for the sake of memorization and capitalizing on public sentiment.
YouTube Preview Image

Would it not be more productive right now for the government to be trying to help clean up the gulf whether or not BP has to pay for it? Shouldn’t they actually be getting back tot he states that are requesting PERMISSION to use booms to block the oil from approaching their shores? Should they not, in fact, be calling for any leading minds to contribute their ideas in helping to solve the problem? Nah, they just do what the Obama administration is good at, blame other people, do photo op’s to look like they’re doing something, and stir up public anger to punish businesses. I remember when BP were the glory boys of the Democratic party for paying them big bucks to get taxpayer subsidies for solar energy development. Hell, BP even put money behind cap and trade policies. They are one of the big Democratic party lobbyists and were the model of what oil companies should be doing, transitioning into alternative forms of energy. Now that they had an accident, Barack Obama does what he does best, make threats and try to make himself look better by attacking others. He needs to demonize businesses to hide the fact that he’s an incompetent president that doesn’t know what to do about anything other than just follow the Marxist theories he loves so much. Rather than being prudent and investigating drilling platforms in areas of similar situations, Obama just take a hammer to the whole industry and our entire economy by banning offshore drilling for half a year. What a stupid, petulant little child he is. Of course, that’s the aim. Keep us all down, overburdened and beholden to the government. The Democrats love absolute power and the restraint of prosperity.

So now we see how much the government can actually do when there is actually something that they are SUPPOSED to play a part in. So, should we keep giving them more and more power, more and more responsibilities, and more and more control over everything? As the jobs in the private sector continue to go down. The jobs in the government sector keep going up as they hire more and more bureaucrats and paper-pushers to regulate and run things that they can’t run well anyway.

Democrats Doing what they Do Best

1. Blame and demonize others to take the attention of an incompetent government.
2. Demonize business, period.
3. Don’t actually do anything other than spend a lot of money unwisely and blame others.
4. Do lots of photo shots to look like they’re actually doing something.
5. Make threats and swear to punish without actually trying to fix problems.
6. Hurt the economy so that everyone’s dependent on them for hand outs so they can control the people
7. LIE LIE LIE – “We’re in control of the situation!”

Keep up the Great Work on the Economy

If you like the way things are going, keep these assholes in charge.

The Democrat Party, Control the People Parrty, Now Owns all of our Health Care Problems

by Lawrence on Mar.29, 2010, under Politics, Tyranny

It has been a while since I have posted. With Obamacare bearing down us, and the seeming inevitability of it, I quite surprisingly, became disconnected. Blogging and reaching the people with my thoughts on it didn’t make a difference, mostly because the majority of the country agrees with me, and despite this, the Democratic party decided to ram it down our throats anyway.

So now, our ever-present commandante, Barack Obama continues to tour around campaigning the Democrat Health Bill. They just can’t get over the fact that sixty percent of the American people did and still do not want it. He tells us that we deserve the same healthcare that the government officials have, but page 58 of the bill exempts these government officials from it. If it’s so good, why don’t they participate int he same healthcare plan that they forced on us?

So we are all supposed to be happy now that we will all be getting more affordable healthcare. Hmmmm… from last month to this month one of my prescription medications went up from $90 to $110. I guess it was just a coincidence. I don’t suppose all those new taxes on healthcare will make things ore expensive either. I’m sure that the fact that the government will oversee all the insurance plans that are offered, what they cover, and hoe much they cost, life will be easier on all of us. That way, if we can’t get the coverage we want, we know to just give up since there are no options. The government is running it all.

Well, now that the Democrat party is in single party rule and completely owns the healthcare system of the country, we all know who to blame for our healthcare problems. Hey, they wanted to take it over, so now they are responsible for all of us.

Barack Obama’s Lies Part 6 – More Transparency Strikes Back

by Lawrence on Apr.27, 2009, under Barack Obama's Lies, Politics

Here is a good example of the Obama transparency policy. He and Democratic leaders from congress have decided to push through the healthcare plan on reconciliation. This means that the bill gets a limited amount of debate and will be past by even a slight majority vote. Basically, it’s a way around trying to get 60 votes in the senate to pass it. Chuck Schumer and Harry Reed say that they want to fastrack it so Barack Obama can use it as an accomplishment for his first 100 days in office.

YouTube Preview Image

Didn’t Barack Obama promis us more transparency including 5 days of having a proposed bill available ont he internet for the American people to review it before it is voted on? This bill will be voted on after it’s finalized, right away. Obama already broke the transparency promise with the stimulus bill, but now he’s doing it again. This time it’s with our entire healthcare system. Isn’t this important enough for the people to be involved int he debate?

Well, having a milestone for his big evening this Wednesday night for his first 100 days in office is more important than productive debate and time spent on hazing out a good plan for healthcare. We’ll get the rush plan according to his designs and that of the left wing of the Democratic party. Putting aside the problems with a nationalized, state-run healthcare system for this post, doesn’t he at least owe us a more though-out plan that takes different ideas into account instead of the wham-bam thank you ma’am approach? He doesn’t care. The senate and house Democrats don’t care either. They don’t have to live by the plan, but we do.

The Democrats Raise Hell over AIG to Cover their own Asses… Take Some Responsibility you Cowards

by Lawrence on Mar.18, 2009, under Politics

I am sick and tired of hearing how outraged the administration and the congress are about AIG bonuses for employees. I certainly do not think that bonuses should be going out to those AIG employees that are working in the division that bankrupted the country and encouraged our government to spend $173 billion in bailouts for AIG alone. What ticks me off with Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Harry Reed acting all outraged about it is the fact that they could have avoided this problem during multiple bailout packages along this course they have taken. Chris Dodd and Harry Reed were the main authors of the original bailout package back during the Bush administration. During that time they knew that the American people were upset that we were bailing out companies that engaged in risky lending. Shouldn’t they have thought about making sure that they money was going to be used properly? They were the authors of the legislation. They had the responsibility to make the legislation effective.

And then there is Barney Frank. When are his constituents going to wake up and get this idiot out of the House of Representatives? Barney’s the head of the house finance committee and has been personally overseeing the financial institutions and their use of taxpayer funds. How come he was not the first to notice the bonuses? He was not even among the first notice this? How come he did not even try to prevent it since he has been involved in putting forward all of these bailouts since the beginning? Shouldn’t Barney Frank also be concerned about the bonuses that are going out to executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie MAc? Of course he doesn’t mind that, because those banks are his buddies. He gets to decide who is allowed to have bonuses and who does not. Note to Barney, Fannie and Freddie were at the heart of the banking crisis.

Tax cheat Tim Geithner is, of course, our Secretary of the Treasury. Remember why he was tapped to for that position? Because, being the Fed chief of New York, he was involved with bailouts way back at the beginning with Bernanke and Paulson in the Bush administration. In fact, he was put in charge of managing the AIG bailout from the beginning. How come he did not know anything about this until a week ago? He was in charge of AIG’s bailout from the beginning!

Chris Dodd, the chairman of the Senate banking committee was not only in charge of the first bailout, but he has been involved in all the spending since. He was involved int eh writing of the so-called “stimulus” bill that spent $780 billion on a wide variety of liberal pursuits, 23% of which actually goes out this year. Remember the rush and the urgency to pass that through? Why was there such a rush since the overwhelming majority of it was set to go out after this year? Remember how it was not finished until 11pm the night before voting and that nobody even read the thing before the Democrats rammed it through? Chris Dodd actually wrote language in the bill that protected executive bonuses like this one. That seems to indicate that maybe he knew ab out it, since he acted to protect the bonuses at that point? Some might even say that he was part of the problem.

Why can’t the Democrats take responsibility for not doing their jobs and and shift the blame to the Bush administration or the concept of “greed” in general?

Do you see what happens when you have the Federal government managing the financial sector? Do you really think we should have the Federal government be more involved in the financial sector? How do you think it will work out with the Federal government running healthcare too?

Barack Obama’s Lies Part 1 – The so-called “Stimulus Bill”

by Lawrence on Mar.03, 2009, under Barack Obama's Lies, Politics

Judging by the amount and veracity of things being said by Barack Obama during his first 43 dyas in office, I know that this will be an on-going series that deserves its own category. It is really amazing how much misinformation is coming out of the Obama administration and how much the media just lets it go without any verification, or mention of inaccuracy or flat-out incorrectness. In an effort to set the record straight, TWP is going to have to keep Barack Obama honest.

Note: It would be helpful if you read the actual final version of the so-called “Stimulus Bill.” I know it’s very long, but if you want to compare the real true bill to what Barack Obama has been saying about it, it would be helpful. Knowing the truth is always a good thing. It shows insight into the lies that you are being told. Final Copy of the Stimulus Bill

During his first White House press conference, Barack Obama said that there were no earmarks in the spending bill that the Democrats call the “stimulus” bill. It settled at $800 billion dollars, and included plenty of money for state and district-oriented project funding. This is exactly what earmarks are. This was a bold-face lie. Money going to California, Michigan, and other blue states that did not balance their budgets and now need bailouts from the whole country and people from other states are earmarks. Any project that is funded within states and localities that are not federal projects are exactly what earmarks are. Typically, they are requested at the end of the writing process of legislation and get snuck in on the vote. Maybe this small difference allows Obama to say that they are not technically earmarks, but they are the same thing in all other ways. Seeing how the Democrats rammed the spending bill through quickly threatening disaster if they did not, this parallels normal earmarks in that things got snuck in quick and voted on. Most of the spending bill is not stimulus oriented. This spending bill had one purpose, create liberal projects and interest funding under the guise of a stimulus bill so the whole country thinks that it is necessary and will let it go through without any review.

Barack Obama promised that all legistlation that he pushes would be available on the internet for 5 days at least before being voted on by congress, so that the American people would be able to see what it was all about and form an opinion on it. This is part of his whole new transparency thing that he said that the previous administration did not have. the final version of the stimulus bill was finalized around 11pm the night before it was pased. Not only was it not available for the American people to review before it was voted on, the congress did not even have time to read it. Of course, the Democrats were going to vote for it no matter what was in it anyway. A few moderate Democrats voted against it, something like 16 or so. 3 Republicans formt he sentate voted for it, which allowed it to go through the senate and be voted on. This single party rule is not going to go well for the American people. You will not have a voice in what happens in the congress or the White House. Not only that, according to how this stimulus bill went, you will not even be informed about it until after the decision is made. Even then, all you will get is a propaganda website that tells you what Obama and the Democrats think you want to hear instead of the truth. If you compare the actual written version of the stimulus bill that is available on some internet sites to the White House’s recover.org website, you will see that the White House website is misinforming the public about the bill. It emphasizes the tax cuts of the bill, but in reality, the tax cuts are a small portion of the bill. They tell you what you want to hear and hide the truth. This is another lie that Barack Obama made during the campaign.

As stated at the end of the above line, Barack Obama promised us during the campaign that he would tell us what the truth was whether we would wnat to hear it or not. His recovery.gov website is just a propaganda site that tries to characterize the stimulus bill in terms of what we want to hear rather than what is the truth.

During his first address before congress (quasi-state of the union speech), Barack Obama stated boldly that we will not leave a mountain of debt for the next generation. There are no economists in existence that beleive that eliminating the budget deficits will happen any time soon, much less paying down the national debt. We are spending more than the government’s budget every year and it is growing more and more. Barack obama has single-handedly tripled the budget deficits that Bush left even within his first 43 days in office. There is assuredly plenty of spending to come. Hey, the liberals want to change whole country over to what they want before anyone starts voting Democrats out of office in the next 2 years. That means they have to spend money quick on establishing all the big government controls that they want.

Whether you agree or disagree with Obama’s policies, you have to admit, he has been dishonest on frequent occasions so far in his presidency. At this rate, he is racking up at least one big lie every ten days. There will be much more to come in the series, because I do not beleive that Barack Obama will stop being dishonest. In fact, I am already electing to put two major lies on tax policy in an upcoming post rather than in this one. That way, they will at least be organized by subject and not take up too much time for you to read. It’s time consuming keeping up with Obama’s propaganda.

Some Reasons why this is not a Stimulus Bill, but a Spending Bill

by Lawrence on Feb.13, 2009, under Politics

What would be a logical stimulus

First, all of the items in this bill should be for what the bill states, stimulus, not just spending plans. Even if some of the spending plans are for good things, they need to go through the Congressional Budget Office like everything else so that it can be budgeted and debated individually. Instead, we are being told that this is an emergency stimulus plan when in fact, it contains spending plans for the next 4 years. This indicates that Obama is just trying to get his plans for how money will be spent for his first term all in one shot without any scrutiny. He hides it all as a stimulus. Here is a list of some of the items that have been reduced in cost that are still not stimulus investments.

• $3.5 billion for energy-efficient federal buildings (original bill $7 billion)
• $75 million from Smithsonian (original bill $150 million)
• $200 million from Environmental Protection Agency Superfund (original bill $800 million)
• $100 million from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (original bill $427 million)
• $100 million from law enforcement wireless (original bill $200 million)
• $300 million from federal fleet of hybrid vehicles (original bill $600 million)
• $100 million from FBI construction (original bill $400 million)
This is only the spending that has been REDUCED by the senate. 2/3 of the bill is still outrageous spending

These items should all be addressed as part of a regular budget package. None of these expenses provide immediate stimulus. What provides immediate stimulus is to lower the payroll tax rate, which would put more money in peoples’ pockets IMMEDIATELY. That is a true stimulus. Likewise, lowering taxes on businesses would allow businesses to plan ahead on the income that they would have in the near future. Then they can plan longer-term for their hiring and keeping people on. When you just toss one-time tax rebates at people and businesses like Obama’s version of lowering taxes, there is no future planning. It is just a gift that comes in the mail. Nobody can plan on it and rely on it.

Lowering Tax Rates is stimulus, but Obama and the Democrats just want to send out one-time checks and targeted tax cuts for businesses who do what they want them to do for the small part of the stimulus package that actually deals with taxes.

This package is just a big budget spending bill that is being disguised as a stimulus bill that we must do right now or all hell breaks loose. That’s why they are rushing it and using fear to push their agenda through.

The consisted independent assessment of the tax-breakdown of this bill is that only 1/3 of the bill is geared toward taxes (and then, it is focused on handouts instead of lowering tax rates). 2/3 of the bill is just spending that should go through normal budget debate and scrutiny.

This bill will not create any long-term jobs, just a little short-term help at the cost of a lot of long-term debt

Will Bill Nelson put his Party before the People of Florida?

by Lawrence on Jan.28, 2009, under For Floridians, Politics

Letter to Bill Nelson Concerning the next Big Spending Bill that Came Along

Dear Senator Nelson

The so-called “Economic Stimulus” bill that passed the house today is a rash, poorly designed piece of legislation that will only put our country further into debt and provide little or no long-term stimulus to the economy. The question is whether or not you will work toward revising or rejecting the bill as it stands or if you will just fall into party line and waste the taxpayers’ money with the rest of your party. Do you stand with the fiscally responsible ideals of your state or the fiscally irresponsible ideals of the left side of your party?

If you fell into line with the latter, you will continue to sell out the future of the American people. At a time where social security does not even pay back what we put into it (75 cents on the dollar), the country has racked up a $56 trillion in debt, and an economic slow-down is upon us, can this country afford to waste more money on poor legislation that will only provide a brief jump to the economy and a long-term debt that mortgages our future? On ly $30 billion of the proposed $820 billion goes toward any type of job creation, which would help unemployment, while the majority of it does to wasteful spending. There is a big difference between lowering tax rates, which has a long-term positive effect ont he economy and hand-out checks which only have a brief effect on the economy. Likewise, it is clearly disrespectful to taxpayers to send out checks to those who do not even pay taxes. Perhaps Barack Obama and the Democrats are just trying to buy off the American people for electing them into power by tossing them a bone.

The state of Florida has avoided the fiscal bankruptcy that many other states have incurred with their own poor spending habits. now, we need to pay those states in our federal taxes to bail them out? Much of this so-called “stimulus” goes to these states. Irresponsible spending is what got the country intot his financial mess, and the government is showing poor leadership ship in setting the example that accumulating debt andspending too much money is ok. Not only that, this bill spends money on bailing out those who got mortgages that they could not afford. This just tells people that they can be irresponsible and the government will help them out, while those of us who are responsible, pay our bills, and pay our taxes end up having to pay money to them. What is the incentive for responsibility?

If you choose a more responsible line of action than just blindly following your party, you can show yourself as a man who represents the people of Florida. If, however, you choose party over your state, then why be a senator of Florida?

Some of us do pay attention to our government and are watching your next move.

In my Opinion

A Senator’s primary mission is to represent the people of his or her state, not the members of his or her party. The Democrats are mortgaging this nation’s economic future with this poorly designed legislation. They call it “economic stimulus,” but it is really a waste of money that will have only a small short-term effect ont he economy. Spending money on hand out checks is not a tax cut. If businesses are hurting, we need to lower the corporate tax rate )2nd highest int he world behind Japan) and taxes on small businesses. That way they can provide jobs or at least stop cutting them. Lowering these rates will provide year after year growth potential for business. Giving people a one time check of $1,000.00 is going make them feel good for a little bit, but would satisfy them long-term like job security would. Bailing out those who borrow irresponsibly only encourages it to continue and sets a precedence for legal action to get the government to bail anyone out. Distributing money from state that tightened their budgets and avoided bankruptcy to those state governments that spent too much is also unfair. it rewards irresponsibility and punishes responsibility.

The general economy benefits from job creation in the private sector. The Public Works projects (government paid jobs) that FDR used during the Great Depression only extended it. Barack Obama is not learning from history. He is more concerned about short-term political appeal than what is right for the country. World War II is what got the country out of the depression, not the Public Works projects. This bill contains too much attention toward short-term spending instead of long-term tax restructuring and fiscal responsibility that the country needs to keep the general economy and its own books prosperous.

Change: Barack Obama is taking the fiscal irresponsibility of the Bush administration further. Is that what the Democrats mean by change? More Bush than Bush? If Senator Bill Nelson votes for this bill, he is putting big-spending liberalism before the people of Florida

The Democrats are Living up to their Mascot. They’re Coming in like Jackasses.

by Lawrence on Jan.11, 2009, under Politics

Change? REally?

Barack Obama and the new surge of more Democrats in the house and senate all got through ont he very simple slogan of “change,” we really do not see much change in the operations of the Democratic party from their business as usual historically. Of course, real change would have changed some of those Democrats in the house and senate that have been doing nothing but the wrong things the last two years in congress, but most Americans are not even informed enough to know that they were in charge of congress. All the voter new was Bush was president, so now let’s change to a Democrat president who’s cool and will be the first black president, and that should sovle everything. Yet for those who actually do follow politics and the news can see that the Democrats are coming in int he style that makes them the party of the jack ass.

  • Rod Blagojavich – Hey, guess what, he’s a part of the business as usual, Democratic machine in Chicago that runs the state of Illinois. He gets caught red-handed trying to sell a senate seat to the highest bidder. Democrats come out strong in saying that we cannot stand for this and must remove him from office and have a special election so that the people can elect a senator. Well, of course, this did not happen. The Democratic congress in Illinois is still draggin their feet on removing him, and he has already appointed a replacement. Senate Democratic leaders resist a LITTLE at first, but are basically now ready to accept Balgo’s pick of Roland Burris. While the appointment is technically legal, the whole fake way that the Democrats stood up to Balgojavich is
ridiculous. He’s been recorded selling a senate seat and he has a long list of other crimes that he has been found to be under scrutiny for. While he deserves his day in court like everyone else, the evidence is overwhelming enough that he can no longer effectively serve as governor. He will remain, however, and business will continue as usual.
  • Caroline, “ya’ know,” Kennedy – The Democrats raged against Sarah Palin for not being qualified enough. At least Sarah Palin has been in government for the last 13 years. Sure she was on a small town city council, was a mayor over a small town, and has only been Governor of Alaska for 2 years, but she at least had SOME experience in public office. Right now, Caroline Kennedy will obviously get Hillary Clinton’s open senate seat with absolutely no experience whatsoever in public office or even in running a company or something. Yep, the name Kennedy is all you need to get a free pass from the press and the Democrats to get a US senate seat.
  • Al Franken? Really? – Well, I guess since Minnesota thought that being a WWF wrestler was enough of a qualification for Jesse Ventura, then being a Saturday Nigh Live comedian and a far-left hate monger is enough to get Franken in. Of course, it took a legion of lawyers paid for by far-left money-man George Soros to do it. It also took the state government of Minnesota to overlook the fact that 25 precincts had more ballots than registered voters in those precincts. Yup, we don’t care about voting inaccuracies when it gets a far-left loon into the senate like Al Franken. Well, Minnesota would get what they deserve int he fact that they even let if be close enough for the leftist lawyers to put him in to office, but unfortunately, this stupid selection is going to affect the whole country!
  • Southwest Pennsylvanians – Well, I guess they did not mind their representative Joyhn Murtha calling them a bunch of “racist rednecks.” They could have voted for Obama and not him, but I guess they do not care that their representative thinks so little of them that they are dumb enough to re-elect him. That’s not even the worst part, this guy insults the men and women of our military in harm’s way by saying that they are bombing women and children out there in Iraq. Anyone can disagree with the war and the decision to go to war, but to insult the men aand women who are putting their lives on the line for us is unacceptable. This country goes out of its way, even putting its own soldiers at risk, to avoid civilian casualties. Yet, the loony left and the uninformed love to cheer for the other side which purposely targets innocent civilians.
  • Israel – So, Israel gives up the Gaza strip for a cease fire in 2005. Since then, Hamas has launched bombs at Israeli civilian targets over 6,300 times. When Israel gets fed up and invades after Hamas ended the cease fire officially in December, then they are the bad guys. Israel, like the US goes out of its way to avoid harming civilians, while Hamas purposely attacks civilians, and yet, the leftist loons in this country cheer for Hamas. Yup, Israel is the bad guy, they should just sit there and let themselves consistently be bombed. Guess what, America, you put more of these leftist loons into office this last election.

All this, and they really haven’t gotten started yet. The Jack Asses are in control!
