Obama’s post-Scott Brown Strategy – Focus blame Elsewhere

by Lawrence on Jan.25, 2010, under Barack Obama's Lies, Politics

One of the principles that Barack Obama really seems to have trouble with is “take responsibility for your actions.” He also has a great deal of trouble with honesty. Last week, after the big Scott Brown election, Barack Obama came out fighting with more campaign appearances and softball interviews. His interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC included a great line about why the American people are not in favor of the various Democrat health care plans. Obama said it was because they “lost a sense of speaking directly to the American people about their what their core values are.” I guess we need to be told what our values are instead of deciding for ourselves. There has certainly been no lack of Obama telling us what he wants, and his campaigning on the various health care proposals was pretty non-stop. I guess we are just not thinking the way he wants us to. He needs to tell us what our core values SHOULD BE. Apparently, we cannot decide for ourselves. Once again, the problem is with us, not his policies.

Obama also started a new crusade of “populism” last week by talking about how he is fighting for job creation. During his campaign speech in Ohio last Friday, he even stated that he would fight for us against those who stand in his way of creating jobs for us. Who exactly is standing in his way of creating jobs? The republicans? Are they fighting to not create jobs? In what way? What are they proposing to stop job creation? They are mostly arguing how all the things that Obama has Well, if you are a company who is in the private sector, not owned by government done and is planning to do do not seem to be geared toward actual job creation. The stimulus package obviously did not work, and it was clear at the time that most of it was just pay offs to state and local governments as well as left wing interest groups. No surprise why this big spending bill did not create private sector jobs. It was mostly geared to creating public sector union jobs.

Simultaneously, Obama decided to shift the public’s anger toward the banks again. He wants to create a new tax just devoted to banks. He says that it is to have the banks pay back penalty funds for having borrowed money from the TARP program. The thing that goes unsaid is that virtually all of the banks have paid back their TARP loans WITH INTEREST. If they have completed their financial agreement with the government, why do they need to be punished further? Additionally, many of the big banks did not request TARP funds are were forced to take the funds. Some of them even stepped in to save other banks. Now, all of these banks too must be punished. Just like with energy companies, insurance companies, and other businesses, Obama likes to announce an attack on these “evil corporations,” playing on peoples’ emotions and anger in order to divert frustration away from him. If he is really bothered by the banking disaster that occurred, why is he a stalwart supporter of Ben Bernanke, the Fed chairman? Why does he not have a problem with all the bonuses from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government banks that were at the center of the catastrophe?

Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, GM, and Chrysler are all companies that have taken a lot of taxpayer money from TARP, have not paid it back, and are now protected both financially and politically by the Democrats in government. As has become customary, Obama and the Democrats select those groups and companies that they consider to be allies in their cause and protect them. Likewise, they point out those who they want to demonize and attack them. How do you know if you are an ally or enemy?

Obama will protect you and fight for you if…

If you are a member of a union that has paid a lot of money to the Democrat party, you will be protected and favored. For example, int he health care bill, the unions negotiated a
stipulation that they would not have to pay the taxes on expensive health care plans that the rest of the population would have to pay. The United Auto Workers union was given significant partial ownership of GM and
Chrysler. These companies will not be demonized for needing bailouts. They will not even be criticized for not paying back the loans either.

Businesses that create private sector jobs will be demonized unless they pay off Obama and the Democrats for protection. For example, the big pharmaceutical companies were not targets of Obama in his health care promotion, because they paid a lot of money to Obamacare promotion nd supported it. On the other hand, the insurance companies did not support nor pay money to Obamacare promotion, so they become demonized.

It’s Chicago Mob Philosophy plain and simple. You ahve to pay and offer support to Obama to get his protection. If you don’t, you may need to be demonized, so he can get his agenda across and/or make himself look better tot he people.

Barack Obama’s Lies Part 16 – The New Version of Obamacare is going to Save us Money

by Lawrence on Dec.21, 2009, under Barack Obama's Lies, Politics, Tyranny

Well, the Democrats’ most recent version of Obamacare made it past the last major hurdle over the weekend. Obama’s quick to come out and pimp this latest version, and pour out the usual propaganda. With literally ALL of the major national polls showing that the American people are against even this latest plan, which only got released after voting on it (more of that Obama transparency), he has got to convince us that we are wrong and this is what we really want.

So, after working over the CBO, they come out with the numbers that the Democrats wanted. The Obamacare bill will actually save the government money. With half a trillion dollars being taken out of Medicare, and another half of trillion dollars in tax increases on our existing healthcare plans, the government will actually save money in the next 10 years. Amazing! The government saves money by taking it away from the people! Nice, huh? They save more money by throwing the uninsured onto Medicaid, and forcing the states to pay for it instead of the federal government. I wonder if those costs will trickle down to the people to? Nebraska is safe though, they bought Ben Nelson’s vote off by making Nebraska the only states excluded from having to pay the skyrocketing Medicaid costs that this bill creates.

Didn’t Barack Obama promise us that this was going to reduce the cost of healthcare? Yeah, but that doesn’t matter, increasing the costs on all of us is best for us anyway, that way the government can control everything, and the high costs are worth paying for creating this enormous bureaucracy.

So, by putting us on the hook for it, Obama says that the government will save $130 billion in the first 10 years of Obamacare, and then $1 trillion over the next 10 years. But wait a second, doesn’t those savings all get eaten up by the fact that Obama has promised the poor nations of the world that we will pay them $100 billion a year for climate change? Looks like Obama has already sent our governments saving anyway, just the week before. Oh well, looks like we’re on the hook for already spent savings.

Democrats Determined to Ram Whatever Healthcare Pot Pouri they got Down our Throats

by Lawrence on Dec.15, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

Despite the fact that every single poll out there shows that the majority of the people in the United States are against the various healthcare proposals that the Democrats have been putting together, King Obama called together all senate Democrats to teh White House today to create a unified 60 vote coalition to make whatever current bill they have go through the senate for a final vote.  At this point, none of us know what the current draft of the bill is like. Apparently, the government option is gone and apparently they took out the expansion of Medicare to people 55 and over. Yet, we know nothing else.  It is quite likely that all of the mandates and controls over the medical system are still there, which means it is still government control anyway. Apparently, the $500 billion cut in Medicare is still there as well. Yet, we don’t know for sure.  The Democrats have stopped informing us of what their current bill includes weeks ago.

Yep, it’s more of that “unprecedented transparency” that we were promised by Obama, Reed, and Pilosi. Basicallly, they tell us what they want us to think, and they hide what is actually going on. All we know is that they are determined to pass whatever it is before Christmas. Yet, we must assume that some of the following issues are still part of the package:

  • The most recent plan included an up to 40% tax increase on private health insurance plans. These are the so-called “Cadillac plans.” Of course there are still taxes on all kinds of private health plans.  This will obviously increase the costs of our healthcare, despite the promise that they are doing this to lower our healthcare costs.  Why tax us for having health insurance?  On the flip side, they fine you if you don’t have a health insurance plan.  What’s the deal? They’re just determined to fund their government bureaocracyover the healthcare industry on the backs of all of us.  We’re basically just going to be paying for the government to expand its power, not for improving our own healthcare.
  • The $500 billion cut in Medicare will obviously be scary for seniors and those nearing retirement. The notion that Medicare will not cut benefits even though they are significantly reducing its funding is purely laughable. the money isn’t going to go toward improving Medicare, the funds will go toward creating the giant bureaocracy that the government needs to create in order to rule over the entire healthcare system.  Seeing how Medicare is going to be bankrupt in 8 years, it obviously needs fixing, but theis healthcare takeover is not focused on fixing anything, it’s merely focused on taking over the parts of the halthcare industry that government has not already ruined.
  • while the government “option” may not be in the bill, all the regulations that the bills have had thus far control every aspect of the helathcare system.  From defining what types of plans are approved and allowed by the government to creating rules for health insurance companies and healthcare providers, how can anyone say that the government isn’t going to be in control of the healthcare system? It still is a government takeover.  All this money is just going to go to creating the gigantic government entity that will be controlling the whole system.

Let’s fave it folks, wheter we like it or not, the Democrats are determined to ram this thing through on us, and according to the numbers, they don’t need any Republicans to help.  All the bickering so far has been about making all the Democrats agree on their own plan that they developed on their own behind closed doors. Despite the fact that most of the country is against it, they will shove it down our troats. Let’s also face reality here, these plans are not designed to do any of t things they promised.  Healthcare costs will go up due to the government’s mandates and taxes, there will still be about 25 million uninsured people, and there will be less options for all of us since the government has to approve all healthcare plans.  With this example of how the ruling Democrat party does not listen or care what the people think, we can rest assured their striving to take over the healthcare system will not allow for customer feedback.

Obama Blends in Well with the Rest of the Totalitarian Leaders Speaking at the UN this Week

by Lawrence on Sep.22, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

President Barack Obama blends in well with the totalitarian leaders that are speaking at the UN in this week. In fact, he has a lot of common ground with them. Obama’s still on the war path with our own CIA for interrogating terrorists. He has refused to go ahead with a missile defense shield for our west coast and the one in Eastern Europe to pretext allies as well as ourselves. Obama has the backing of Venezuela’s communist dictator, Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s dictators, the Castro brothers. Iran and Russia are happy to have us not put up a defense shield. Why? So we can’t shoot down their missles. After all, that’s what a defense shield is for. As Obama strives to get our enemies to like him, he throws our allies, like Poland and Israel under the bus. His attempts to control free speech over the air waves and to influence the grants from the NEA to artists also put him right in line with the world’s other totalitarian dictators. That’s why he should be known as Comrade Obama.

The Real Astroturf and Violence Seems to be on the Left Side of the Healthcare Debate

by Lawrence on Aug.19, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

Remember when Nancy Pilosi commented on the grass roots movement of the tea parties that protested the outrageous spending by the Democrat-controlled congress? She said that it was really “Astroturf” because, according to her, it was backed by conservative groups. Of course, she did not support her argument with any example of big money groups supporting them. In reality, the tea parties were just average people going out and protesting and just synchronizing their efforts together via the internet.

YouTube Preview Image

Where are the swastikas Nancy?

Now, Pilosi is demonizing the people who are going to town hall meetings to tell their elected representatives what they think about the proposed healthcare plans. She calls them “Nazis” and representatives of health insurance companies, which she further describes as villains. It’s the old liberal game of demonizing whatever companies htey need to to get people to support their even bigger company, government. Trouble is, with the sheer multitude of people, it is painfully obvious that these are just regular American citizens that are not happy with what THEIR government is doing. This fact is even supported by all the major polls, Rasmussen, Gallup, et al..

YouTube Preview Image

Health Insurance company profits are lower than most sectors. I guess since the government specializes in debt, all profit is considered “immoral.”

Most Americans are against the Obamacare plans. So, are we all Nazis?

So, the left-wing plan is to demonize health insurance companies as having too much money from “windfall profits.” Of course, this is not true. The average growth of the health insurance sector was about 3% last year, far behind other sectors. The software development sector, for example, had profits in the 20% region. While some people do have problems with their health insurance policies, at least they have choice at this point to find other policies. Having a government option will drive out private insurance companies and leave people with no option. As I have been writing, if the government does with standard health insurance what it did to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security (3 almost bankrupt government-run insurance programs), the government will only make healthcare worse.

At least the lefties can be happy that Obamacare is more popular than Pilosi herself.

The next step is to demonize people who disagree with Obamacare and the current proposals in the Senate and House. Unfortunately for the left-wingers, the majority of the country is against these proposals. But, the left-wing propaganda artists are going all out spending millions on TV ads to try and change this. Along the way, they have to call regular people “Astroturfers” in that they are somehow controlled by the health insurance companies that the left is trying to shut down and drive out of healthcare. Somehow this does not make a lot of sense with the sheer numbers of people who are against the healthcare proposals. The majority of the country works for health insurance companies?

Here, SEIU union thugs in their purple shirts are beating up a black man who was handing out material outside of a town hall meeting. So, where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharp ton on this one? Beating up a black man is ok if you’re a liberal Democrat, I guess.

With great hypocrisy, the left is now rolling out their hired goons to fill town hall meetings and make it look like there are just as many people in favor of the healthcare proposals. These goons come from the standard line up of left-wing unions, ACORN, SEIU, NEA, AARP, and AMA. They also have PHARMA supporting them, which represents the large pharmaceutical companies. So which side has the real Astroturf? These groups are also a lot less civil than the ordinary citizens that are protesting the healthcare plans. There are even ads on Craig’s List for hiring volunteers to go out and support Obamacare in their neighborhoods and at these town hall meetings. Hmmm… isn’t “paid volunteer” an oxymoron? The SEIU is also paying devoting 33% of their overall capital into these efforts. This decision was made in January, 2009. Sounds like special interest and Astroturf to me.

Looks like the people protesting Obamacare are peaceful protestors… don’t see swastikas yet.

YouTube Preview Image

Peaceful disagreement outside, and on the inside, the representative doesn’t want to talk.

It’s funny how the left characterizes ACORN protesting banks not loaning to people who can’t pay them back as freedom of speech, but calls people engaged int he political process with their elected representatives “Nazis.” Two Blank Panthers threatening voters in Philadelphia with Billy clubs is no big deal to the left, but senior citizens worries about how their healthcare will be rationed by the government have no right to protest. This is another clear sign of the inherent tyranny in far-left statist politics.

Do you Support a Public Option Health Insurance Plan? Here are some Questions your Proponents can’t seem to Answer

by Lawrence on Aug.06, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

Here is one point that is not being answered by the proponents of the government-run plan in the healthcare debate. Those who want the government to run the healthcare system and drive out private insurance companies cannot seem to explain why the current government plans that are designed to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get healthcare coverage aren’t doing what they’re designed to do.

  • Medicare - This is the government program that is supposed to provide healthcare to the elderly as well as the disabled. If there are elderly people or disabled people not receiving healthcare, this is the program that is supposed to do it. why doesn’t the government fix Medicare first, instead of taking over the health insurance industry? The fact that Medicare is running out of money and will soon be bankrupt might also be a red flag that maybe the government already has its hands full and should not be expanding its control over healthcare.
  • Medicaid - This is the government program that is supposed to provide healthcare to those who cannot afford private insurance plans. So, if there are people who cannot afford healthcare and want to, maybe this is a program that is not working as it should be. Why doesn’t government fix this program instead of taking over the whole industry?
  • COBRA and HIPA - These are two government mandates that force insurance companies to cover people who lose their health insurance from changing jobs, divorce, or whatever occurs that separates people from their healthcare policies. COBRA mandates insurance of the same coverage for 18 months, and then HIPA takes over indefinitely after that. So, if people are not insured because their coverage has been dropped, why don’t they call their insurance companies and demand the COBRA and HIPA coverage? If these plans are not affordable or not working, then why doesn’t the government fix these mandates first before taking over the rest of the healthcare insurance industry?

The Effectiveness of Government as an Insurance Company

Even beside the concept of personal responsibility and budgeting effectively to make sure that healthcare insurance is a priority instead of other expenditures in life, people also have these already existing government programs to make sure that they receive healthcare coverage. Either people are not using the programs, or the programs are not working effectively. In either case, these are government programs that are already in existence. Shouldn’t the government make sure that their current programs are working effectively instead of taking over more? When Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Barney Frank, and all the special interest groups (AARP, AMA, SEIU, and AFL-CIO) argue that our current healthcare insurance system is not working, should they not take a look at themselves and the government programs that are already there that are apparently not working? No, they just want to take over more. It’s the typical statis line, “We can’t be expected to make the current programs work because we need to take over more of the industry to make it all work.”

Basically, the statist  idea is that the government should be given more and more power and control. Then, their programs don’t work as they are supposed to. Then, the government says that they need even more power and control to make things work. The vicious cycle continues until the government runs everything aws in socialist countries, and then the entire country becomes a failed state. At thsi point, the government can only maintain power and control by eliminating dissent and using totalitarian tactics such as propaganda and secret security organizations to make sure that their power and failures do not get free and open debate. This is where we are heading folks.?

So, all you people who want a government-run public option in health insurance coverage, why should we have the government run the whole industry when these government programs that should be eliminating the the problem of uninsured people are not working effectively? Why should the government have more power and control instead of fixing what it has already has? With Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, being the the government’s main insurance programs, are going bankrupt, why should we have the government expand their control over insuring us?

So, how good do you think the government customer service office will be in this one and only insurance company for the whole country?

The Coming Tyranny Part 4 – Government Control Over Healthcare

by Lawrence on Jun.12, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

So now, the man who has quadrupled the nation’s budget deficit and who has set us on a course to have our national debt doubled in 10 years wants to hurry up and rush through his government healthcare plan. Doesn’t anybody want to see if any of his big moves so far actually work before he decides to run healthcare? Barack Obama has never been involved in healthcare in his life. He has no background in it. His only experience is working as a far-left activist and campaigner. Now, he’s doing what he does best, selling us his unenlightened healthcare plans.

The Facts

  • 50 million uninsured Americans – This is a lie. This figure includes about 19 million illegal immigrants, young people who choose not to buy healthcare plans, and temporarily uninsured people as they switch to other plans. The real estimates is about 16 million. The government already has Medicaid for people who cannot afford healthcare. Medicaid is, of course, going broke, and now Barack Obama wants to make the same government entitlement available for all.
  • Government Destroys Competition – In his healthcare campaign speech yesterday, Obama says that he wants a public option to create competition with the private insurance companies to “keep them honest.” As we see already, government pays about 81 cents on the dollar for Medicare and Medicaid payments. In other words, they don’t even pay the whole bill to the healthcare providers. How can private companies that have to abide by the law compete with the government who does not abide by the law, because they make it? Also note how Medicare and Medicaid are going broke even though the government doesn’t pay the whole bill. Government is not going to create competition, it’s going to destroy it. The reason why our policies cost so much int he private sector is that healthcare providers have to make up for the money that they’re losing from the government not paying their bills.
  • Trust – Do you really trust the government to run healthcare right? They are bankrupting the nation, social security is broke, Medicaid is broke. How can you trust the government to run more when everything they run goes bankrupt and fails? Don’t be a fool and believe that Obama is being honest about not wanting to run healthcare. He said the same thing about GM. He’s the one who fired the CEO, selected the new board of directors, broke contracts with debt holders, rewarded his UAW buddies, and is determining what cars the company will make. He did the same thing with Chrysler. They held banks back from repaying the TARP funds that they wanted to. He wants to be in control of everything? Just because he’s a slick talker does not change the fact that he has never run anything in his life. All he does is talk smooth, lie, and act cool.
  • The AMA – The American Medical Association came out against this massive healthcare plan. These are the doctors that will be affected by it. They’re getting screwed by the government not paying its bills right now, and they can see more of it coming. As the government pays low rates, then private insurance companies can’t compete, because they have to run their businesses legally, so they go under. All that will be left is the government who will take over the whole thing. The medical establishment is against the plan. The people who are in favor are just Obama and his left-wing activist groups. Do you want them running your life?
  • Rush… Rush…. Rush…Like everything else he has done, Obama wants to rush this through without giving people an opportunity to debate it, take it apart, think about it, study it… no we have to hurry! Why do we ahve to hurry? Because he wants to ram his policies through before we get a chance to think about it and study it. We haven’t even evaluated the massive spending he’s done so far, why should we hurry up and keep going with this massive government takeover without seeing if any of the crap he’s done so far has actually worked?!

Learn about the Statist’s methods

For 10 out of the last 11 weeks, Mark Levin’s Libery and Tyranny has been number 1 on the New York Times Best
Seller list. Without any promotion from the Media, Oprah, or any of the other liberal-controlled outlets, his book has been informing people about the plans of the statist. The statist is a big-government
ideology that wants the government to run everything. They lie through their propaganda to acquire more and more control over the people. They are power-hungry and genuinely dishonest. Barack Obama is the epitome of the statist.

The Coming Tyranny Part 3 – Government Ownership of Everything

by Lawrence on Jun.03, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

Still think it’s silly to think of Barack Obama as a coming tyrant? Just keep reading. He says that he doesn’t want to own car companies, but he’s done nothing but trying to take them over. Well, now he did. He has his own staff of an auto committee who never sold a car in their lives to run the bankruptcy. If he wanted to do things legally, they would have gone to Chapter 11 with the bankruptcy court making business decisions about the restructuring of the companies, but no, Obama’s got to be in charge.

Obama fired the previous CEO of GM, Rick Wafaner, like he somehow had the authority to do that. Normally, corporations have their shareholder vote on business decisions, but not with a tyrant like Barack Obama. He fires the guy, restructures the board, and then lies about it saying that he doesn’t want to run auto companies. Next, after they do go into bankruptcy, Obama decides to put together a panel to run the bankruptcy. Hey, guess what, that’s not LEGAL! Since, he is our tyrant dictator, that doesn’t matter, Obama runs the bankruptcy.

In the first bankruptcy with Chrysler, Obama breaks legal contracts and makes the shareholders take pennies on the dollar, calling them rich hedge funds. These funds were regular investors like you and me as well as rich people! Who cares about the distinction, they had the legal right to the first line of payout from he debts that the company accumulated. In any case, Obama breaks that law and then gives majority ownership to his friends at the UAW who raised money for his campaign. Too bad they didn’t put that money into saving their company, no, they want to own it, and now they do!

Obama’s going to do the same thing with GM. The night before they went bankrupt he called the mayor of Detriot and said that he will make sure that the car company stays there. The company wanted to move to nearby, Warren, Michigan, but Obama trumped them. He’s running the bankruptcy. He’s running everything about Chrysler and GM. And you know what? Next thing he’ll do is put pressure on Ford, the one American Auto company that isn’t owned by him. He’s going to hurt them so that he can rule them too!

YouTube Preview Image

Listen to this crap. he doesn’t agree with the previous administration, but he voted for the TARP and all the other things that they did about the banks and the auto industry! Now he wants to fix the auto companies, but he’s going to control their “tough decisions” all without being someone who ever sold a car! He’s going to own them until they’re “stabilized” and find private buyers. Who’s going to be a private buyer when the government steps in and ignores contracts and does what they want?! This is a dictatorship folks!

Pretty soon people are oging to have to wake up and forget the fact that he “acts cool” and is a “historic” president and actually pay attention to what he is doing!

The Coming Tyranny Part 2 – Stamping Out Political Opposition – Releasing th

by Lawrence on Apr.24, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

In a controversial move, the Obama administration ordered to have OLC memos that recorded the enhanced interrogation techniques used by military intelligence agencies on the Guantanamo Bay detainees. 3 detainees were the recipients of these techniques. One was the mastermind behind the 9-11 terrorist attack, another was Osama Bin Laden’s chief at arms, and the third was the planner of the USS Cole bombing. There is no question that all three were active terrorists whose actions and planning lead to terrorist attacks on American property that lead to the deaths of 3,000+ U.S. citizens.

YouTube Preview Image

The Obama administration released the memos for the sake of providing “transparency” to the American people so that we could all judge the morality of the situation. Obama provided his own moral judgment in saying that it was torture and these techniques were wrong. He initially stated that there would be no prosecution of intelligence officials involved in this decision making. This week, however, he changed his mind and opened the door to prosecution depending on the decisions of his Attorney General, Eric Holder.

There is no question about the legality of the enhanced interrogation techniques, they were perfectly legal. The detainees were not members of an opposing military with any flag, seal, or symbol of being in the military of a recognized state. due to this, they are not covered by the terms of the Geneva convention. So, in this case, when Obama talks about investigating the legality of the enhanced interrogations, he really has no leg to stand on. The only actions he can take against military intelligence agencies would be under the grounds of the “morality” that he speaks of.

Download the OLC Memos

Interestingly enough, the OLC memos that were released have selected regions that are blacked out. These selected regions seem to indicate what results were obtained from the enhanced interrogations. Former Vice President, Dick Cheney, asked that further memos and information be released containing the benefits of the information gathered be released. Since the Obama administration has already decided that this top secret information should be out there for the world to see in the interests of transparency, why do they selectively censor the information regarding the results and benefits of the enhanced interrogations? Obviously, they intended the release of these memos to be a political stab at the prior administration and did not want any semblance of benefit to be revealed from them. Selective transparency is not transparency, it’s propaganda.

Despite the left’s desperate need to treat terrorists nicely, military officials state that at least two terrorist plots were thwarted by the information that they got from the enhanced interrogations. One was a bombing attempt in Los Angeles and the other was an attempt to bring the Brooklyn bridge down. The actual plans for the plots were found during police raids. The left says, that it doesn’t matter how many lives are saved, we should not use “torture” on terrorists that we capture. I guess, that’s why there was selective blacking out of protions of the memos. The left, and Obama as among them, does not think it matters what terrorist plots were stopped by the interrogations.

Morality and Torture

When looked at rationally, the instances of so-called “torture” documented in the memos were like a light version of Fear Factor. Putting a caterpillar in a show box next to a terrorist who is scared of insects is torture? Pushing someone into a rubber wall with padding for the neck, a doctor and a psychologist present is torture? The doctors and the psychologists are there to make sure no lasting mental or physical injuries result. Would one get that benefit in a Taliban prison? And finally, water boarding. 40 seconds of water being dumped on your face to simulate drowning with a doctor present. Ok, it’s scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Just spill the beans about the plot that’s coming up, and it’s over.

The Actual Results of Obama’s Decision

By releasing the OLC memos, Barack Obama did rally and placate his leftist supporters. He also did take a stab at the Bush administration. Of course, the only people who find some great immorality int he enhanced interrogation techniques were th lefties that did not like Bush int he first place. Anyone in the middle or who supported Bush’s approach to national defense probably was not in the least bit phased by the memos. Another result is that now, Barack Obama has informed all of our nation’s enemies how far we were willing to go in interrogation and that we are no longer even willing to go that far, for fear of prosecution by our own government. He sent a signal to intelligence officials throughout our governemnt that it doesn’t matter if it’s legal or not, you better be careful not to do anything that Barack Obama finds to be “immoral.” He also sent a message to the American people. Our lives are not worth as much as the personal comfort of a terrorist.

Conclusion

In putting his own moral judgements above the lawful use of force, Barack obama is holding his opinions up as the gold standard. If you are in the military or an intelligence agent of any kind, you no longer need to use the law as your guide, but Barack Obama’s views. You are under threat of prosecution even if you are within the law so long as he disagrees with what you do. The president is supposed to be the leader of the executive branch, and a part of the government. He is not supposed to be THE government all in one person. The constitution and the laws of this nation are all relative to his views and not the historical intent of the writers. He has taken over a the personal leader of this country.

The Coming Tyranny Part 1 – Stamping Out Political Opposition – The Homeland Security Report on Rightwing Extremism

by Lawrence on Apr.22, 2009, under Politics, Tyranny

A lot of people think that those of us that see a soft tyranny being imposed on the United States by the left are just exaggerating and are sore losers after the last election that put Barack Obama in power.. My response is that I challenge people to actually pay attention to what is going on in our government right now rather than tuning out now that the election is over. If you actually pay attention and look at what is actually happening rather than just laugh with John Stewart and Steven Colbert on the Comedy Channel. That’s not news folks, it’s just liberal-perspective entertainment.

Now, Barack Obama has a lot of style and delivery, and yes, it is good that we can elect a black president in this country, but, we should also pay attention to what decisions are actually being made and what things are actually being done. Look at the facts and the figures instead of just listening to him say what you want to hear. Remember, our elected officials are supposed to be serving us, the people of this country, making us the boss. Given this fact, we should pay attention to what they are doing, not just what they are saying.

This is a multi-part series, and this first part beings with the evidence of the leftists in the government using their legal authority to specifically target opposing political views. This is done in a subtle way, of course, but is nevertheless valid. The example in this first post is the Homeland Security Report released focusing on “Rightwing Extremists.” Apparently, extremists of other political ideologies are not a concern.

Signs of the Coming Tyranny Part 1

The Homeland Security Report

Barack Obama, his administration, and the leftist congress are making efforts to stamp out political opposition. Take, for instance, the recent Homelandd Security report that you can download here. This report was not supposed to be released to the public, but someone let it get out to show us what they are thinking. It begins with a disclaimer saying that there really is no specific evidence for its warnings, but…

(U//FOUO) This product is one of a series of intelligence assessments published by theExtremism and Radicalization Branch to facilitate a greater understanding of thephenomenon of violent radicalization in the United States. The information isprovided to federal, state, local, and tribal counterterrorism and law enforcementofficials so they may effectively deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacksagainst the United States. Federal efforts to influence domestic public opinion must beconducted in an overt and transparent manner, clearly identifying United StatesGovernment sponsorship.

The first section is devoted to the possibility of white extremist groups rising up in rejection of our first African American president. This is obviously something that needs to be put down, and I doubt that law enforcement offices did not think of this possibility. So far, there has not been evidence of it rising up, but this section is not what concerns me about the report. Just after this section, the report talks about the “possibility” of rightwing extremist groups following in the pursuits of Timothy McVeigh who was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. Following this speculation, the next section talks about how it is once again “possible” that returning veterans might supply knowledge of arms and military training to rightwing extremist groups.

(U//FOUO) The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return ofmilitary veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communitiescould lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremistscapable of carrying out violent attacks.

The next two sections talk about how the economic downturn “may” cause rightwing extremists to take action. It cites the shooting of police officers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They report it was due to the perpetrator’s racist ideologies and anti-government beliefs. So, people on the right are the only people capable of racism? People on the right are the only anti-government people? How do leftists get excluded from this “possibility?”

(U) A recent example of the potential violence associated with a rise in rightwingextremism may be found in the shooting deaths of three police officers inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 4 April 2009. The alleged gunman’s reactionreportedly was influenced by his racist ideology and belief in antigovernmentconspiracy theories related to gun confiscations, citizen detention camps, and aJewish-controlled “one world government.”

The next part focuses on rightwing talk ont he internet, and how there is evidence of anti-Semitic views expressed. Hmmmm…. while there may be evidence of this, most people on the right support Israel and believe that we should stand strong with them. The Barack Obama administration, however, is already warning Israel to not do anything about Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, even though Iran has promised to obliterate Israel. Isn’t it also the left that seems more concerned about the treatment of captured terrorists than the preservation of Israel? This sentiment is even carried to the point of considering prosecution of CIA officials in the use of interrogation techniques? This will be addressed in part 2.

(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on theeconomy, the perceived loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures. Anti-Semitic extremists attribute these losses to a deliberateconspiracy conducted by a cabal of Jewish “financial elites.” These “accusatory” tacticsare employed to draw new recruits into rightwing extremist groups and further radicalizethose already subscribing to extremist beliefs. DHS/I&A assesses this trend is likely toaccelerate if the economy is perceived to worsen.

The next section addresses the historical presidential election. This section is is obviously a repeat of the same sentiments listed before, but they wanted to repeat it just in case you didn’t get it the first time. After that, they take a trip back tot he 1990s and said that back then, some of these issues seemed to be getting people upset. Maybe having an opinion on one of these issues on the “right” side just might make you an extremist.

(U) Revisiting the 1990s
(U//FOUO) Paralleling the current national climate, rightwing extremists during the1990s exploited a variety of social issues and political themes to increase group visibilityand recruit new members. Prominent among these themes were the militia movement’sopposition to gun control efforts, criticism of free trade agreements (particularly thosewith Mexico), and highlighting perceived government infringement on civil liberties aswell as white supremacists’ longstanding exploitation of social issues such as abortion,inter-racial crimes, and same-sex marriage. During the 1990s, these issues contributed tothe growth in the number of domestic rightwing terrorist and extremist groups and anincrease in violent acts targeting government facilities, law enforcement officers, banks, and infrastructure sectors.

The next section is about the effects of the economy on rightwing extremism, AGAIN. In this case, it talks about how there are differeing opinions, but there was a German Institute that said there is a coalation between poverty and rightwing extremism.

(U//FOUO) Scholars and experts disagree over poverty’s role in motivating violent radicalization orterrorist activity. High unemployment, however, has the potential to lead to alienation, thus increasingan individual’s susceptibility to extremist ideas. According to a 2007 study from the German Institutefor Economic Research, there appears to be a strong association between a parent’s unemploymentstatus and the formation of rightwing extremist beliefs in their children—specifically xenophobia andantidemocratic ideals.

In my opinion, there are a lot of impoverished socialists in the world (that would be leftwing by the way), so I’m not sure how useful this is. COME ON, who gets paid to write this crap like it is really providing any useful information to anybody? It’s really just political crap to beat up on conservatives and paint with a wide brush stroke people whoa reo on the right politically with extremist groups like neo-Nazis and racist skinheads.

I’m not going to review more on this post, but you can download it from the link above to see for yourself. It then goes on about how rightwing extremists are against illegal immigration and they don’t like gun restrictions. They even devote a whole section to veterans. Nice, huh? You serve your country by putting your life on the line, and then you’re considered suspicious when you come home.

Conclusion

This is merely an example of the politicization of the Homeland Security Office. They announce that rightwing extremism is the “greatest terrorism threat to our nation,” but just merely speculate on the “possible” things that could happen and mention a lot of normal conservative positions as signs of extemism. This is no surprise because a lot of lefties refer to the average conservative as a “rightwing extremist.” Yet, should a government office be playing this game? Whatever you say about George W. Bush, his Homeland Security office didn’t release threat warnings calling liberal Democrats the greatest terrorism threat to our nation. Hey, wait a minute, I thought they banned the word “terrorist” now in favor of “causer of man-made disasters.” Nope, for the conservative, the word “terrorist” is still used.
